Resolved

At 3:07 EST, we deployed an update to the Universe API service. The release introduced the use of a new database, intended for environments other than production.

During the deploy, we were immediately notified of a total loss of API traffic. We then reverted to our last-known good configuration and re-deployed our API service.

Service was completely restored by 3:16 EST.

Universe takes reliability very seriously, and are working to ensure these types of outages are automatically prevented in the near future.
